What does it take to keep all of the Preserve’s exhibit critters happy and healthy? Learn all about the feeding and care of our exhibit animals. Join a Springs Preserve zoologist and see what few visitors ever see. Ages 12 and over only. Space is very limited, so register early.

Come explore the Springs Preserve hiking trails with Wildlife Biologist Raymond Saumure as your guide. With more than 250 species of animals known to occur onsite, there is always something interesting to discover! Participants are encouraged to bring a sense of adventure, sensible footwear, a camera and at least two bottles of water. Space is very limited, so register early.

Members of the Red Rock Audubon Society will be your tour guides to help you spot birds at the Springs Preserve and learn how to attract them to your landscape. Bring binoculars for your viewing pleasure!

Our focus will be on the desert Southwest, with occasional topics that will take us much farther afield. Alaska: The name conjures up visions of Denali, North America’s highest peak, and the frozen tundra of the North Slope. In reality, this vast state encompasses a wide range of ecosystems including the temperate rainforests of the Southeast Panhandle. Join us for a photo tour of the scenery, flora and fauna that make the glacial landscapes of Southeast Alaska so amazing.

From the vivid pinks of blooming cacti to bright orange globe mallows and vibrant yellow desert marigolds, spring is one of the most colorful seasons in the Mojave Desert. Join us for an exploration of the wildflowers of the Mojave Desert and learn which flowers you are seeing in bloom as you enjoy the natural wonders around Las Vegas.
