Winter Garden Class Series

Event Information

  • Date & Time: Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025; Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025; Saturday, March 8, 2025. Two class session times available per date: 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
  • Location: Garden Classroom and Teaching Garden. (Park in the South dirt lot for closest access to classroom).
  • Admission: $20 members, $30 non-members. (Price includes tickets to all 3 classes in the series).
  • RSVP: Reservations are required. Limited seating available.

The Springs Preserve is excited to announce the Winter Garden Class Series! Come and learn from our gardening experts during three specialty classes designed for desert climate gardening. Participants will work alongside garden education and horticulture experts and learn what to pay attention to while gardening in the Mojave Desert.

Although single tickets are available for each individual class, you can save money and enjoy reduced pricing by booking the entire series of classes! Series pricing available through Friday, Jan. 10 only!

Garden Design (Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.)
Spring has sprung! Well, not quite yet! Get a head start and learn about plant placement, garden styles, types of soil, and irrigation systems for your desert garden in time for the spring season to help your garden flourish in the warmer months ahead.

Pollinators (Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.)
Buzz! Explore the fascinating world of pollinators and how they play a crucial role in your desert garden's success. Learn about native pollinators and how to create a welcoming environment for them to thrive in your garden.

Tomatoes (Saturday, March 8, 2025, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.)
Tomato, tomotto! Or whatever you call it! Come learn how to grow juicy, flavorful, and heat tolerant varieties to enjoy a bountiful tomato harvest even in the harshest desert climate!
